API 560 Fall Meeting
BIH recently participated in this years API Fall Refining and Equipment Meeting. This year’s fall meeting was held in Denver, Colorado over the week of November 10th. With well over 300 attendees, this meeting would see a vast amount of people with years of API Services and also a large number of first time attendees.
BIH are pleased to continue our longstanding practice of being active members of the API committees involved in writing the standards that relate to Fired Heaters for refinery services. During the recent meetings in Denver, BIH participants consisted of three senior members of the process engineering team. BIH were active contributors on a range of subjects which included burner spacing refractory design heat recovery systems and control systems. The opportunity to exchange ideas and design practices with the end users of our equipment is particularly valuable and enhances our capability to add value to the overall life cycle cost benefit of the equipment we supply. The engineers participated in a Task Group on STD API 560 – Main Body, on Monday the 10th November for various meetings. Then on Tuesday 11th November they provided a presentation to the meeting Task Group on STD 560, Fired Heaters – Breakout Burner Spacing. As active members of API 560 sub-committees BIH employees relish the opportunity to represent and support the American Petroleum Institute.
Our engineers whilst not in attendance of the various meetings the API held, spent their time liaising with other member and Clients, enjoying the various other aspects of the meeting such as meeting the exhibitors.
BIH would like to say a thank you to the API for their warm reception and for another successful event.
